Woofie’s Offering Pet Tech® Classes To Staff, Public

All-inclusive pet-care franchise hosting Pet CPR & First-Aid Training for community

ASHBURN, Va. – Woofie’s – a growing franchise in the $70 billion professional pet-care industry that is the first to offer the combined services of personalized pet sitting, dog walking and mobile pet spa services – will be hosting Pet Tech® pet CPR and First-Aid classes at their main office in Ashburn, Virginia.

Classes, which are for Woofie’s staff, franchisees and open to the public for $75/class, will run August 14, August 28, September 7, October 9, November 16 and December 11. The training will take place at 44200 Waxpool Rd., Suite 137, with the Wednesday classes running from 4-8 p.m., and the Saturday classes going from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Pet safety and making sure our team members are trained for any health scenario that could potentially arise is paramount for our business,” Woofie’s co-founder Leslie Barron said. “We are a thriving business because of the wonderful community we serve. All Pet Tech classes are standardized, using the same materials and course content, but Woofie’s instructor Angela Verhine adds her own experiences and personalized touch. The classes are condensed to four hours, instead of the standard five. Each class features a live dog to practice certain skills, especially those related to finding a pulse and assessing breathing.

The classes are tailored to the needs and unique situations of a pet parent and caregiver, with a focus on preventative measures, dangers in the pet’s environment, and “look-fors.” Attendees will learn the preventative measures they can take to avoid danger all together, as well as what to do if an emergency does arise. Topics include first aid for dogs and cats including CPR, choking management, bleeding protocol, insect bites, poisoning, and more.
